Nowadays we are witnesses of the acts of terrorism, migration, economic crisis, high unemployment rate, ecological problems. Young people have to face often negative news, tensions, opinions of the community towards other cultures which often bring very negative attitudes (predjudice, discrimination, intolerance and even acts of violence) than searching common solutions through intercultural dialogue which seeks to establish links and common ground between different cultures, communities, and people, promoting understanding and interaction.
OUR OBJECTIVES WERE:
– to supported 35 young people, out of which 15 with fewer opportunities from the Slovakia, Spain, Poland, Greece, and Turkey to better understand the importance of intercultural dialogue and to offered them the space where they could exchange their ideas about local difficulties and potential solutions on the topic,
– to helped the 35 participants from the 5 countries to had a better understanding of the real situation by experience of multicultural city of Istanbul which represented Multicultural Bridges for us where we have also met participants from another countries,
– to provided the opportunity to the 35 participants from the partner organizations to acquire knowledge about the other countries, and found out the connection between the cultural identity and expressing themselves,
– 35 young people from the 5 partner countries developed their personal and interpersonal skills, their 8 key competences and as well their soft skills which will help them in the future in their human interactions, active social participation in the local community but also international relations.
