My first Greece Experiences
I’ve been in Greece for 1.5 month and I’ll tell you my first Greece experiences. First of all, I never
expected that I would be so happy here. People are so kind and friendly, it’s easy to live in Greece as
a foreigner because most of the people speak english, enough to communicate. Also I liked foods
very much and there are a lot of similar foods between Turkey and Greece. It surprised me that
people have a rest in the evenings but I get used to have a rest in the evenings eventually.
I was aware that there were a Muslim minority in Greece but still it’s wonderful to meet someone
who shares same culture with you. There are a lot of mosques, buildings etc which were built during
Ottoman Empire and it made us to see similarities rather than differences between Turkey and
Greece.
I would say something about where I work. I’m an EVS volunteer and I work for System and G as a
volunteer. I make graffiti classes in Europe Direct Office every Wednesday. I love to teach graffiti to
my participants and I think our classes are so much funny and instructive.
I would like to tell you that I travel Greece during my free times. I love to visit some places around
Komotini such as villages. I almost visited every city nearby like Xanthi, Alexandropouli, Fanari etc.
Camping in Fanari was one of the funniest thing I’ve done in Greece. I also visited to Thessaloniki. My
best place there is the Atatürk Museum for sure. I suggest everyone to visit there.
