LOOKING FOR 10 GREEKS in age 16 – 25 and 2 Group Leaders with no age limit for KA3 project “Walls of Ignorance”.
The project contains 3 MAIN ACTIVITIES:
1. Slovakia, Bratislava 22 – 29 February (22 and 29 are travel days). The project will be attended by 30 participants between 16 and 25 years old, 6 leaders 18+. It means each country (Greece, Turkey, Slovakia) will send 10 participants between 16 and 25 years old and 2 responsible leaders 18+.
2. Greece, Komotini 19 – 26 June (19 and 26 are travel days). The participants should be same as for the activity in Slovakia. We would appreciate if participants remain same in order to fulfill our project aims and impact.
3. Leaders´ meeting at European Commission, Brussels in September. 6 leaders (2 per country) will visit European Commission and discuss the documents created in the previous activities. For this reason we need leaders who are able to attend all 3 activities.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PROJECT:
This programme aims to use various methods of non-formal education, such discussions amongst the participants themselves or with the professionals from the field, workshops and other interactive activities, to address the issue of growing intolerance towards the members of LGBT Community. Our goal is to raise the leaders, who would be, after the programme, able to promote, defend and fight for the rights of sexual minorities in their respective communities.
The project sets up 4 main objectives to carry out:
1. To create a set of 10 rules/principles, LGBT Leaders should follow to promote open-mindedness,
2. To create 3 plans for educational workshops for the general public, which will participants use to promote equality in their countries,
3. Each national group of participants will organize a discussion in their community about the situation of LGBT People in their country,
4. To create a strategic document, with regards to the approach towards the edificational and educational programmes focused on LGBT Problematics, which would help the policy makers to better understand the nature of the community.
The aforementioned objectives will be achieved through the following activities:
1. Examination of the reasons for the rise of homophobia in the European environment and creation of the possible solutions
2. Intercultural dialogue about the status of LGBT Community in the countries of participants – National Groups will prepare the presentation about the legal standing and societal acceptance of the sexual minorities in their respective countries
3. Dialogue with the professionals from the field about the effective ways to fight for the LGBT Rights.

The project is financially supported by KA3 of the European Commission Erasmus Plus Programme. Hence, all the costs related to the participants’ accommodation will be covered as well as the travel costs will be made according the km calculator.
There is 30 EUR participation fee for all the phases!
